Today I want to tell you about one interesting project, the purpose of which was to create a gold pendant in the form of a Peacock or a Firebird, as it was also called in fairy tales. The Firebird is a character of East Slavic fairy tales, a bird with golden and silver wings. Now we very rarely see works on this topic on the Internet, and in order to diversify our stories, I certainly decided to get down to work, despite the fact that I had to be in time for the new year, which was less than three weeks away. Moreover, I have quite a rich experience in creating peacock feathers. For example, back in the early 2000s, I created a gold necklace for the exhibition "Peacock Feather", which was the winner of the Jeweler Expo Ukraine 2001 award "For the most elegant embellishment" in the nomination "Traditions and Modernity" (Traditions and Modernity).
So, the work began with the fact that the client provided pictures in Viber with a similar product that he wants.
We try to never copy 100% of the product that the customer provided us in the photo. We make sure to bring our own changes as far as possible in a particular work, in order to give the decoration its own individuality and originality, as well as our own style.
So, first we start designing the product on the computer. This allows, firstly, to find out the estimated weight of the product and its approximate price, and secondly, at this stage it is possible to make changes to the project. Also, the visualization of the decoration allows you to more clearly see all the subtleties and details of the work, as if you were watching this product live.
After agreeing all the points with the client, we make a wax model by milling in hard wax or by printing in wax on a 3D printer, depending on the complexity of the product and the task. In this case, we milled the wax model on a CNC machine.
Now, the resulting model, we already directly cast the model in the required precious metal. After casting, the product is brought to a marketable condition by hand. Sawed, sanded, polished. If necessary, enamel is applied or stones are installed.
After finishing processing, we weigh the products, calculate the losses. Based on this weight, the final cost of the precious metal and the work to manufacture it is calculated. The jewelry is tagged, packaged and sent to the client.
We take photographs of each product, assign it an article and add it to our electronic catalog. At any time, the client will be able to make a copy of this jewelry in case of loss or desire for another production of a similar product. For example, quite often customers want to have the same jewelry for all or some members of the same family.
We are very happy when the client likes the created product and we are very grateful when he leaves us a positive review. The most important pleasure for us is to create something that a person will really like. Jewelry should not be just a piece of precious metal, it should be emotions, memories, associations. We don't just create jewelry, we create stories!
